Openings Available for 2010 Ice Skating Program
There are still openings in our instructional ice skating for children 6 to 13 years of age, the town's recreation department announced.
Learning to skate offers children physical challenges as well as the opportunity to develop grace and to build confidence. In the beginner class students learn to maintain balance on the ice as well as learn some of the basic moves of ice skating. The intermediate class allows students to advance beyond basic moves to learn the moves necessary to truly enjoy the benefits of this wonderful sport.
Ice Skating classes will be held on Sunday afternoons at MacKay Park in Englewood. Session I begins on Sunday, October 17 and continues through November 21. Session II begins on Sunday, December 5 and continues through January 9. The fee for each six week session is $80.00 and includes a 1/2 hour lesson, 1 1/2 hour free skate time on the rink, rink admission & skate rental.
The ice skating flyer giving full details about the program is available daily at the information table located in the hallway of the Richard Rodda Community Center; 250 Colonial Court at the south end of Votee Park from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
