The following press release was submitted by the Teaneck Recreation Department:
The Teaneck Recreation Department is pleased to announce the start of it's Winter/Spring Bowling Program for residents 4 to 14 years of age. Bowling provides a great opportunity for your children to stay active over the winter months and to learn a new sport. In addition to being one of the most popular recreational activities in the United States, bowling is a good source of exercise and provides a nice opportunity to meet new friends.
Children 4 to 7 years of age participate in the Bumper League. The use of bumpers eliminates gutter balls and builds the confidence and scores of our youngest bowlers. Participants in this "Mommy and Me' program play one regular game. Bowlers 8 to 14 years old play two regular games. Bowlers are assigned to teams of three or four bowlers.
Bowlers will meet at 4:00 p.m. from February 9 through May 18 at the Bowler City Lanes in Hackensack. The weekly fee is $4.00 for students 4 to 7 years old and $8.00 for students 8 to 14 years old. The weekly fee includes payment for games, use of rental shoes and lightweight bowling balls. At the end of the winter program, league trophies will be presented.
To register for the Junior Bowling Program, please come to the Administration Office of the Teaneck Recreation Department located on the first floor of the Richard Rodda Community Center; 250 Colonial Court at the south end of Votee Park from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Please bring proof of residence (copy of New Jersey driver's license, current utility bill, etc.) and, if this is the first time your child is participating in Teaneck Recreation Department programs, proof of your child's age (birth certificate or passport). Fees are payable weekly at Bowler City Lanes.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss our programs with you and invite you to visit our office Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If that is not convenient, or if special accommodations are needed, please call (201) 837-7130 ext. 1 for assistance.
