UPDATE: Click to view video released of the Dunkin' Donuts robbery
An armed bandit held up the Teaneck Road Dunkin' Donuts late Sunday, making off with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
The robber pulled a black handgun on a store employee and demanded money just before midnight, according to Teaneck Police Detective Lt. Andrew McGurr. Two employees were inside during the hold-up, reported at 11:47 p.m. at the T-State shopping center store.
McGurr said the gunman was described as Hispanic, approximately 5-foot-8, wearing a gray hoodie, black jacket, with a red scarf over his face and black sunglasses.
No one was hurt in the robbery, McGurr said.
Police on Monday also released an image of the gunman captured by the store security camera.
The Bergen County Police Department's K-9 unit helped search for the gunman and the sheriff's crime scene unit processed the scene.
Anyone with information can call Teaneck Police at 201-837-2600.

There's a simple solution - just make all Dunkin Dontus a "gun free zone".

Would that not prevent cops from going to DD?

LMAO, like thats gonna help any.... That area is going to crap anyway...I live a block away and in the last 2 years, the neighborhood has dramatically declined... How about one of the 5 police officers that literally sit on the DD 24/7, pay attention and stop harrassing honest citizens and focus on the "gangs" that are now all over the neighborhood and surrounding areas...The Police can't be everywhere all the time and it is up to each one of ourselves to protect ourselves... As a former cop, MP and combat veteran I am forced to be a potential victim as all citizens have been disarmed and the only people around here with guns are the criminals and the police who are never where you need them but are everywhere when you don't...too many are concentrated in the same space and need to spread out more to effectively police these new high crime areas...

I agree with Jeremy Lenker, I was walking on Cedar Lane this weekend and I have to say the whole area has gone down the toilet. I hope my [lan works out and I can leave Teaenck in the next five years.

I suppose there would be people who would have had a problem had police stopped this criminal before he entered the Dunkin' Donuts, because he looked suspicious wearing sunglasses minutes before midnight. Or for that matter, had 1 of the Dunkin' Donuts employees called the police because they deemed this guy to be suspicious, the ACLU would have been chomping at the bit.
I realize we changed the clocks Sat. night and it gets darker later now, but I'm pretty sure there would be no reason to emulate Corey Hart and wear sunglasses at night. Yes, I'm making the "wild" assumption that he's not blind.

You're also assuming that this individual was walking down the street with that get-up on. I highly doubt that's what happened.

Right. Now let's get to work on all of our gun control bills. If we had real gun control, this criminal would not have had a gun, would have gone back to school or be involved in helping his community and would not have robbed the DD. I hope you gun-toting freaks understand now...

Please explain to me how any one of the current or proposed gun laws would have prevented this criminal from robbing this DD.... Not this wishy washy feelings comments from a perfect utopia, but real honest FACTS.... Our society has a moral collapse and it has nothing to do with laws or the enactment of new laws. Criminals are criminals... Just like I butcher grammar and proper sentence formats, they will do what they want, regardless of what the laws say. NO LAWS would have made this man go back to school or be involved with his community.... A swift kick to his rear end from a real parent when he was growing up and a proper mentor is what was needed to prevent his crime spree and even then, sometimes you can't stop evil. New Laws are not the answer, the current laws in place are more strict than what they were 20 years ago and we had many more guns readily available to anyone than we have now. We taught firearms safety in school until the mid 60's and we never had mass shootings. We gave .22 rifles to 10 year old children and they never used them to kill people or to commit crimes with them. What has changed since then? The MORAL DEGREDATION & SOCIAL CORRUPTION are the problem here...parents are not parenting. They are too concerned with collecting their benefits for the children, but not actually doing what is needed to be done. That is the problem...so please tell me how any laws will stop these crimes......

The crack babies have grown up, and this is the result, IMO.
I do not say this from a physical deficiency, but moreso a socioeconomic deficiency in having crack head parents.

Unfortunately, crime happens. Criminals, crafted either through the failures of society or through the imperfect machinations of their own minds, exist. There is no way to account for all the potentials here -- more guns, fewer guns...we can't know what will work. And we waste our breath deciding that each new fact or instance is definitive proof of what we say and against anyone else's point of view. We need to focus on catching this person and hope that our future efforts will discourage additional behavior of this sort. And if the behavior continues, we continue to try and punish the offenders.

If he is caught perhaps as a society we can help him see the error of his ways as well as discourage other criminals from messing with Teaneck by employing the following:

What good does it do to punish the offenders as long as we have an ACLU? What we must continue to do is punish the innocent, law-abiding citizens. Confiscate the guns, regulate magizine size, register all bullets, stop selling 64 oz. drinks. What good are legislators if they don't make new laws before trying to enforce the old ones. Do you really think this is Utopia??

Dee, unfortunately you are wrong. We DO know what won't work. The debate is what will work and logic dictates that focusing on the tools that a criminal chooses to use as a solution to the problem will only effect the law abiding citizen and will do nothing to alter criminal behavior.

I'm sorry, did you say "PUNISH the INNOCENT, LAW-ABIDING citizens" & "make new laws BEFORE enforcing the old ones?" I hope you are speaking in jest. If not & If I heard you correctly, then you need to re-evaluate your perspective of what the US Constitution says and the RIGHTS provided by the Bill of Rights!!! What you propose, violates our rights and turns us into a socialist country..You should leave this country and go to one that already follows these types of ideas...such as North Korea, China, Venezuela, Mexico. Iran, etc. We do not punish innocent, law-abiding citizens until they have done something wrong and then they are called criminals. We do not just go and create new laws without first enforcing the ones already in the books. I know that government thinks they can do this, but they are not following the rules, which also makes them criminals as well. How do they expect anyone to take them serious when they don't even listen to the laws they themselves put into place, just several years before. If this is in fact the way you think is appropriate to represent a free country, than you sir need to leave this country and take your DICTATOR mentality and ruin someone elses freedoms and lives. I did not serve this nations military to be enslaved by others and to be punished for the actions of others (especially criminals). I shed MY blood for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.. I will be damned if I allow any politician to attempt to strip me of them
