Bergen County Warrant Sweep Nets Teaneck Men on Drug Charges

Prosecutor’s Office investigators seized cash, drugs in six county warrant sweep, authorities say

Two Teaneck men were among 20 people arrested Thursday by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force in a drug warrant sweep spanning six counties, authorities said.

The arrests came as a result of undercover drug investigations the task force conducted over the past 12 months, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a statement Friday.

Investigators seized two pounds of marijuana, more than one-half ounce of cocaine and approximately 100 pills of prescriptions drugs, along with about $3,200 in cash, the prosecutor said.

In Teaneck, Elm Avenue resident Daniel Robinson, III, and Taariq Huggins-Perdomo, of Genesee Avenue, were each arrested on charges of distribution of marijuana, distribution of marijuana within 1000 feet of school property and distribution of marijuana within 500 feet of a public park.

Robinson, 22, was released after posting $5,000 bail, according to county jail records. Huggins-Perdomo, also 22, was released on his own recognizance.

Arrests were made in other nearby towns, including Hackensack, River Edge and New Milford

Small time hustling? What if these guys were your neighbors and they had real gangsters from places like paterson or newark coming by to buy drugs. Would you feel safe? Not the biggest arrest but nonetheless drugs ruins neighborhoods and brings shady characters into town...

Ridiculous. The reason the drugs "ruin" neighborhoods and bring along "real gangsters", who me, is because they are illegal. If they legalized pot, there would be no need for these wastes of taxpayer dollars on stings, wiretaps and overtime - forget about the costs of prisons (private prisons depend on drug arrests and it's a major donor source to government officials), court backlogs and extra police officers.

Ask a retired police officer what he thinks of our drug policy. As soon as their life is no longer on the line, they are for legalization. Check out their organization here: http://www.leap.cc/
