A blizzard warning has been issued for eastern Bergen County starting early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches is possible along with wind gusts up to 45 mph, the weather service said.
The heaviest snow is expected to hit Friday evening into Saturday morning, forecasters said. Visibility of one quarter mile or less is possible at times.
The weather service warned of the potential for treacherous driving conditions and localized power outages brought on by the winter storm.
Public Service Electric and Gas said it was preparing for storm, including readying "all available personnel" and arranging for contractors and tree crews to help.
"Snow, by itself, does not pose a serious problem for utilities, but heavy snow, icing and strong winds can increase the possibility of downed wires and associated power outages. Cars striking utility poles can also cause wires to come down. And cold weather can affect the number of calls we receive from customers with insufficient or no heat," PSE&G said in a statement.

Well, the Township has had several storms in the past 2 years to prepare for this one. The Council has said the Township has learned and it "will do better next time." OK, here we go.

The Township and Council will post updates on Facebook which seems to be their idea of "doing better".

Teaneck did do a robo-call but included no information as to where one might go if ones power and heat go out.
As for the website it's failing again with a "504 Gateway Time-out". I suspect the ISP cannot handle the town's website traffic during even during the approach of a possible emergency..
If https://www.facebook.com/TeaneckNJ if the "official" Teaneck NJ Facebook page there is nothing about an impending storm there.
