Castle, Gussen to Square Off at Congressional Forum
Teaneck Deputy Mayor, former Marine compete to take on conservative congressman.
The two Democrats vying to unseat Rep. Scott Garrett in the redrawn 5th Congressional District will meet at a forum in Teaneck later this month.
Deputy Mayor Adam Gussen and Jason Castle, who has said he would move from Cliffside Park to Teaneck, are set to appear at the Ethical Culture Society April 25 at 7:30 p.m., Bergen Grassroots announced.
The Bergen Grassroots forum will be run by a moderator who will screen and time questions, said Paul Eisenman, chair of the reform group.
“The format will include a two-minute opening statement, one minute to answer each question by each candidate and a one-minute closing statement,” Eisenman said. “A drawing will be held to establish the order of opening and closing statements.”
Gussen will appear in the Democratic Party column in the primary. Castle collected the required number of signatures but missed a filing deadline and will appear in a separate column.
Teaneck, once entirely in the 9th Congressional District, was split through redistricting and a majority of the township was added to the Republican-leaning 5th District.
Hackensack resident Diane Sare is also running in the Democratic primary on the Lyndon LaRouche ticket.
The forum is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Space can be reserved by contacting Bergen Grassroots at 201-692-9600 or paul@bergengrassroots.org.

The important thing is to get Garrett out. A split vote fighting him, might prevent that! ANYONE has to be better than Garret!

Diane; Garrett is the only one defending our constitution, whereas this former marine
is a disgrace to the constitution that he swore to defend and uphold.
Obama Care, Socialism, and violating the 1st 2nd and 10th Amendments are both un constitutional and UN AMERICAN

Diane, Martin: Can you expand on your comments? What issues matter most for you in this election?

If Castle is not running in the Democratic column in the primary, and, one presumes, Diane Sare is, why isn't she going to be at this Teaneck Forum? Seems like your intrepid reporter missed something, like Castle. Maybe the Democratic Party isn't that "democratic?" My question is: are there two or three candidates on the Democratic column? and, who are they? And will they all be presented to the voters at this Teaneck forum? Is the forum "free and open to the public", but not all the candidates? Who missed the story?

Mike Cino is going to beat them all. He will beat Earnest Scott Garrett in the Republican primary.

Mike Cino couldn't beat himself out of a paper bag. Hell, he was scared to even come to candidates' night at the BCRO making the excuse that he was not "invited". Cino is nothing but a joke.
