Charlie Sheen Reportedly Buys Lawrence Taylor's Super Bowl Ring

Fox Sports reports actor paid $230,000 for piece of Super Bowl history.

Actor Charlie Sheen was reportedly the winning bidder for a Super Bowl ring belonging to Giants' Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, Fox Sports Jay Glazer wrote Thursday.

Glazer reports that Taylor's agents were told that the actor paid a little more than $230,000 for the ring, which was put up for sale by Taylor's son T.J.

NFL.com reports that Sheen is an avid sports memorabilia collector who at one time owned the ball that Mookie Wilson hit through Bill Buckner's legs in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.

Sheen also owns Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring, Yahoo! Sports reported. Taylor was reportedly unaware that his son put the ring up for sale after the troubled former linebacker gave it to him as a gift.

Sheen offered only a "no comment" when asked via text message by "The Dan Patrick Show" if he was indeed the buyer.

Taylor, a former longterm Bergen County resident, has had numerous off-the-field problems since he retired as one of the greatest defensive players to ever take the field.

He was sentenced to six years probation last year after pleading guilty to having sex with an underage female prostitute in Rockland County, NY, in May 2010.

Sheen and LT should have a reality show, call it "Not Winning", as neither is really heading in any positive direction.

Maybe Rory, but Sheen seems to be having the last laugh. I do not agree with him hanging out with multiple porno stars. That kind of lifestyle is vile and shows an empty person. This guy seems to be laughing back at a world full of misery. How many of us can afford to sport a superbowl ring?

Yeah, how many of us have crack brain, where our mind tells us to do things we normally would never do? Like perform a Torpedo tour that went nowhere and lost money or goes on tv and talks about the warlocks and adonis dna. If he is in sound state of mind and has that much cash in the bank to make this purchase, great. If not and its a drug fueled purchase, then Charlie isn't laughing at anything, his mind is not in control.

Johnny, so he has a superbowl ring that he bought, not a superbowl ring he WON as a player. What good is all that money when someone is a loser like sheen?

Nose, you may be right. From what I recollect Charlie "not really winning" Sheen hasn't been making much money lately. I hope the guy gets the help he needs. Even 260k for a SB ring is way out there, I have a colleague that owns a ring from Emmit Smith from a cowboys SB and he paid $24k for it, 260k seems too much for a guy that was once great and now labeled a pedophile.

Now Charlie Sheen can feel that he is really good at playing football because he has a champion's ring.

Bling bling!

I agree with you Chris......I guess He does'nt think too much of His Father....It would blow my mind if my son did something like that to me ......If he has no respect for his Father He should have given the ring back to him......

i agree scott. there is a reason that on one of my local stations and FX reruns of 2.5 men is on sometimes up to 6 to 8 times EVERY DAY! i still watch it with ashton and its pretty funny, but no where near what it was when sheen was on it. cant wait for his new series to start. also its his money and evidently others were bidding high for the price to get where it was. hes got a collection any true sports fan would love to have.

He did make his money off of his persona, you know. People are allowed to dislike that persona just as much as it is sold to them that they should love it. Speaking for myself, I was just having fun. I have nothing at all against Charlie Sheen.

I also have no interest in telling him what he should and shouldn't buy. I just always thought that the gratifications that came from things like Super Bowl rings stemmed from the sense of accomplishment that comes from earning one.

Lawrence Taylor's kid obviously has no respect for his father and is a greedy little man. How could you sell your Dad's super bowl ring that he gave you as a gift? I'm sure Lawrence meant for it to be a family heirloom to be handed down through the generations. That is very sad and pathetic.

He'll probably try to impress all the prostitutes and porn gals he uses by showing them the ring, they'll probably say "Oh yeah, LT's ring, seen that before..."
