Court Street Utility Work Expected to Continue Through May

Detours possible during utility work

PSE&G crews are working to upgrade an underground electricity line, which could cause traffic detours on Court Street, officials said.

Crews will dig up a portion of Court Street and a wooden work shed will be in place on the roadway until early May, according to an advisory from PSE&G. The street will be repaved when worked is completed.

"The work is on the shoulder on the south side of Court Street, and one lane of traffic will be closed continuously until it is complete," PSE&G spokeswoman Kristine Snodgrass said in an e-mail.

PSE&G is working with Teaneck police on any traffic issues in the area, she said.

The Court Street project is among a host of utility upgrades taking place around Teaneck, including upgrades to two power substations serving the area.
