Damaging Wind, Large Hail in Forecast Thursday Night

National Weather Service warns that an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out

Damaging winds and heavy rainfall are expected to roll into Northern New Jersey Thursday starting at 7 p.m., according to The National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms bringing damaging winds up to 58 mph and quarter-sized large hail were expected to last until about 10 p.m., according to the hazardous weather warning and forecasts issued early this morning and an advisory this afternoon

"An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out," the alert advised.

Storm conditions are expected to dissipate as the week ends, with the chance of showers and thunderstorms decreasing to 20 percent by Friday night.

The temperature is forecasted to pick-up slightly on Friday, peaking in the low-to-mid 90s.

Bergenfield Police took to Twitter to advise the public on the potential storm and the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management issued an alert on Facebook.
