Don't Feel Like Cooking For the Holidays? Local Eateries Can Help

Find out about local holiday eats.

There's no place like home for the holidays…

but if you're thinking of leaving the comfort of your home for some local cuisine this holiday season, we have a few restaurants in Teaneck that you can visit:

BV Tuscany Ristorante (368 Cedar Lane, 201-287-0404, www.bvtuscany.com/index.html) will be open on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve for lunch and dinner, and Christmas Day and  New Year's Day for dinner only.

Owner Benny Belidemaj is hoping history repeats itself. "Last year was pretty good," he says, "and this year it's actually good thing that [Christmas Eve] is on Friday and [Christmas] is Saturday. Sometime if it's during the week, it may not be so good. That fact that Christmas is on Saturday this year will work out good for us."

BV Tuscany Ristorante on Christmas Eve and Day will be serving both a la carte and specials of the day, including  three or four different fish specials, in addition to its steak, veal and pasta dishes. The a la carte menu features appetizers from $7.95 to $10.95, with main courses from $21.95 to $25.95.

Regina's Steakhouse & Grill (827 Teaneck Road, 201-862-1996, http://reginassteakhouse.com) will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Executive Chef Michael Ostros will offer Christmas Eve Chef Specials (they are not yet specified). However, on New Year's Eve, a Pre Fixe menu is featured for $100.00 per person plus tax and gratuity, which includes an appetizer, soup or salad, and entree choice of filet mignon, baby rack of lamb, 1-½ lobster, veal osso bucco, or Chilean Sea bass, and dessert. A champagne toast will cap off the evening at midnight, and reservations are necessary.

∙ Vitale's (293 Queen Anne Road, 201-836-1195, www.vitales.com) will not be open on Christmas Day, but will open its doors on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

"For the eves, we'll be doing a lot of off premise catering," says general manager Sal DeVenio. "Offices are staying in and ordering out, which is real good for us. We'll be [preparing food] next week (the week leading up to Christmas) as well."

DeVenio says his Christmas Eve menu will include traditional fare like seafood salads and other seafood entrees, and specials like stuffed chicken.
