Why does every minute happenning in Teaneck get coverage but no mention of Barbara Toffler in a "lawn sign altercation" days before the Election???

What was with the private citizen anti-toffler phone calls last night? Frankly I'm barely tolerant of the candidates reminder calls themselves but have absolutely ZERO interest in receiving unsolicited calls from non candidates giving me their personal opinions on who's running.

Having a paid advertisement from one of the candidates for Town Council(Toffler) on the same page as the story titled "Teaneck Election Day Guide" is highly inappropriate and should be removed immediately!

The ad for Toffler is on the same portion of the page as the title Election Day Guide and is not rotated. The Hamaeeduddin ad is on the top of the page and not visible when the Election Day Guide.

These are paid advertisements. They are not editorial endorsements. There is a line between editorial content (news articles) and paid advertisements. Customers can purchase a spot on the site. As JAD notes, the current advertisements are on a rotation with various candidates, national brands and local clients.

I need to stress that paid advertisements are never an endorsement of any candidate, brand or store. Patch does not endorse candidates, products, etc. Our advertisements are handled by a separate staff than our news coverage.

Not only did Ms. Toffler remove signs of other candidates, the police were involved. I read about it elsewhere, but wonder why it is not written up on other sites, like the Patch.

Let's not get started on comparing who's worse in this vitriolic campaign. Last night's phone call from someone claiming to have lived here for 55 years, mentioning membership on the Democratic Committee (hung up too fast to be accurate about the reference), and urging a vote against Toffler, was offensive, as was most of the rhetoric in the past few months, and what appears to be an effort to smear one candidate. All are entitled to their opinions and their votes, but let's keep it civil. Next time around, perhaps we can find more folks willing to run who will sit on our Township Council and demonstrate that they are tolerant, respectful of one another, and concerned with the good of all who live in Teaneck.

Jason could you put up a link to the sign story. I did a search, albeit a quick one,and could only find one article that read a bit like an op-ed on it and would like to see a non opinionated version of the events. Getting a one sided version is not enough for me to judge an event on.

I have read this "article" about TOffler and it is very biased in my opinion. I found it on Google search and never have even heard of the publication in question. The writing is very one sided and even though i do not like Tofflers actions I cannot trust such a biased "report" on this matter.

I hope no one ever has to experience what I have for the past 6 years -- most horrifically since May, 2010 when i received an email from David Lerer telling me that my every comment and action would be monitored and a formal complaint would be filed against me (who would have believed that was warninhg of the cooked up ":censure" to come. the past to weeks have been beyond belief in the endless attacks on me. Noah, perhaps you can do a documentation of the harassment and intimidation I have experienced.. BTW all -- the reason you didn't read about the sign incident is because there was no incident. The only person who did anything wrong was Chaim Kiss. He has 4 signs on public property which according to the Teaneck Code is illegal. Please check accuracy of my statement with Chief Robert Wilson.

Teaneck....What is going on here??!!! It is so obvious that many of the people commenting have very personal agendas and are trying to disguise it through false accusations. Attacking the media for having paid advertising not to your liking and demanding an article on a police call where no formal complaint was filed is ridiculous. Grow up! No wonder the country is so divided. You, along with the politicians in Washington, DC, can't get beyond yourselves. Angry rhetoric doesn't solve anything. Teaneck will be better served if you channel your negative energy in a more positive direction. Enough!.. Go Vote!

i read this so called police report. it says nothign. Just one person said this another said that. Have any charges been pressed? Have any tickets been issued? no? who cares? Considering the police report is not confirmed by any reputable media sources i dont even know if it is real or edited. maybe The Patch and Bergen Record have better things to do?? we have bigger problems to worry about here and we are fighting about who moved whos sign. sad and shameful if you ask me.

In the end what should move the citizen's decision as to who to vote should be based upon one's perception of the integrity of the candidate and their ability to work with others and do what is best for the majority of the citizens of Teaneck. for me that means our current Mayor has earned the right to be re elected both today and as mayor by his peers. The amount of money spent on this election is one that we should all be ashamed of and a harbinger of limiting others from running in the future. Lets hope that the big money spent does not overshadow the the candidates who, with far less dollars to spend, clearly have the best interests of the town in their hearts, and not their own advancement

What the hell was the president of the Teaneck police union doing there off duty? Why is no one addressing that? Did he influence the report? Why was the fact that he was present omitted?

I learned a good amount about the candidate ideas on here reading about the forums which i could not attend. i like the mayor concern about development in town, its important. i also think Tofflers budget idea is interesting. Campaign signs.. who cares!? everyone is just using this to thier own ends.

Oh, please. Ms. Rosenbluth. You can't seriously think your JV&O is a serious journalistic product to be proud of. You destroyed a candidate for council 2 years ago with an article filled with lies. The fact that you published the story actually makes people dismiss Dr. Toffler's action as a stupid mistake, instead of something to be legitimately investigated by the prosecutor. I write this as someone who will vote for Mark and Mohammed, and hopes Dr. Toffler loses. Your actions as editor of the JV&O only worsen relationships between diifferent Teaneck subcommunities. You should be ashamed of the damage you have caused.
