Max, a 5-year old pug beagle mix, is energetic and full of vigor. He came to the shelter because his owners were unable to care for him any longer. Happy and friendly, Max has tons of love and affection to give and seems to be excited to meet everyone around him. Continued socialization will be a must since he does so well with strangers. Max is looking for a family who is experienced with particular behavior issues, such as taking toys and treats too seriously. His new family will have to work on this issue or it most likely will escalate. Max loves to engage in play so incorporating a routine/structured routine would most definitely aid in his transformation. Bergen County Animal Shelter

This little stray female pup is about 2 1/2 months old. Doodle looks like a pit bull/boxer mix and she's a sweet, friendly, silly puppy who loves her squeaky, furry toys. Doodle will make a fun companion for someone with the time to train a puppy. She will be spayed before she leaves the shelter. Because she's still quite young, she will need all the necessities to grow and mature into a mindful adult. The shelter seeks a family who has the patience and time to give to this delectable sweetheart.
Blake is a cross between lab and mastiff. At 3-4 years old, he is quite calm and content as an independent fellow but he truly enjoys some good ol' fashioned lovin' too. This well mannered gentleman properly asks for attention so continued positive socialization will be key so he doesn't lose this unique quality. Walks, runs and hand feeding will be great in the bonding process and adopters should be sure to address a minor guarding issue to be sure it does not escalate in the future.
Dizzy, a Pit Bull Terrier about 1 or 2 years old, came to the shelter as a stray and is now ready for a loving family who can show her the ropes and give her a more balanced lifestyle. Full of energy and hyper as ever, this lively gal will need plenty of physical and mental stimulation like walks, runs, hikes and training. This not only helps with energy release, but also with the bonding process. She will need a confident leader who can guide her in the right direction so she can grow into a more mature adult.
Jonas is a wonderful 8-month-old kitty who came to the shelter when his owner became allergic to him. He is a real playful guy. His previous owner told us that he is good with kids and that Jonas loves water. He even gets into the shower any chance he can get. He loves to be bathed. Jonas will be neutered before leaving the shelter.
