Former Reality TV Star Jon Gosselin, Rabbi Boteach to Make Teaneck Campaign Stop

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, a congressional candidate, will promote tax deductible marriage counseling in Teaneck.

Republican Congressional candidate Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star Jon Gosselin will tout tax incentives for marriage counseling at a press conference in Teaneck Wednesday morning.

The former reality television star went through a bitter public divorce from Kate Gosselin. Their marriage fell apart amid allegations Jon was having an affair.

“Gosselin will speak about his life, the disintegration of his marriage on national television and how tax deductible marriage counseling could have saved it, and the help he has received from Rabbi Shmuley,” a press release from Boteach’s campaign said.

Boteach, an Englewood resident and former spiritual adviser to Michael Jackson, supports making marriage counseling tax deductible.

“As part of his values-based platform, the candidate will elaborate on the importance of tax incentives for marital counseling as a means for bringing the divorce rate down substantially; rather than scapegoating gay marriage, Rabbi Shmuley hopes to steer the political conversation towards a more productive method for saving the institution of marriage,” the campaign release said.

Boteach spokeswoman Jennifer Sealey told the Huffington Post that Boteach is “a long-time adviser to Gosselin” and future joint campaign appearances have not been ruled out.

Boteach won the 9th District primary to face Democrat Rep. Bill Pascrell in the redrawn district.

This is getting ridiculous . How Republicans gave this nomination away to a three ring circus is a disgrace. At least Mike gosta from Fairlawn was an honest hardworking candidate back in 2010. This circus is going no where fast.
