I feel bad for the officers of the Bergen County Police Department. After seeing this vote I feel that this is just a political football. They are being thrown back and forth and it isn't fair. Mr. Ganz and Ms. Voss -- shame on you. He changes his vote and she doesn't vote. What are they thinking? Same garbage going on in Hackensack. How about we start really running this county for the people instead of ourselves????

How can Mr. Ganz and Ms. Voss abstain on a critical vote / issue such as this unless they have a vested interest in either or both of the departments!? They should have recused themselves and stated why (they are doing such) and not look foolish.

If you abstain, you should resign. What good are you if you won't vote on important issues.

Those corrupt individuals responsible for tossing this political football around are Mitchell, Felice, Yudin, Cardinale, Molinelly and Saudino. About time someone stood up to the good old boys who put public safety at risk with no plan. Their motives were as clear as day. Vote them out now!!!

Abstaining means they are hiding something like voting "present" like Obama always did.

Joan Voss is just interested in maintaining her seat. She has no other interest then collecting three pensions plus Social Security. How could she sit through all of the hearings as well as public hearings and have no opinion?

The stupidity continues everyone is frightened to disband the strong police unions. In the meanwhile taxpayers will suffer the consequences. This all comes to a head at some point regardless of the argument by the unions that things were "promised or negotiated in the past". Of course it just got bowled over again, and the current administration stays in favor. Hey people we need to get out to vote to represent the taxpayer and not the special interests. We can't continue to overpay, allow people to get unrealistic wage increases on top of already healthy salaries, retire early collect benefits at a very early age, and utilize Cadillac health insurance.

Freeholders John Driscoll and Joan Voss abstained, are very week and should be ashamed of themselves. Donovan is bug eyed and full of hot air, she makes me ashamed I am a Republican and voted for her.

I find it difficult to understand how TWO FREEHOLDERS abstained. On such an important issue, everyone should research the issue and weigh in. Sitting on the fence is not an acceptable position.

Though will not disclose my direction, have noted which way all voted on this, but please note the two" opting-out well-deserve to lose the next election, for missing a backbone.

the real backstory is double dipper Donovan wanted to protect her cronyism at the BCPD. The new $195,000 pr year acting BCPD Police Chief Higgins own mommy gave Donovan big political contributions. Also the millionaires Bergen County Police Chiefs Association supported Donovan and they wanted the BCPD to be disbanded... and they pushed for it, but they also supported double dipper Donovan. The real winners are the Democrats, because no one is as courrpt as these Bergen Republicans... imho

2 out of 7 total votes that's almost 30% not even voting on an important issue like this. O.K. Who owes someone a favor or who knows something bad about someone else. Or who is afraid of their career while putting the rest of us out to pay ever higher taxes. Put it on the referendum and see where it goes
