Gun Found in Votee Park After Robbery
Weapon was reported stolen during a burglary in Florida, police say.
Teaneck police investigating a robbery Monday night discovered a handgun left in Votee Park, authorities said.
Two 20-year-old Teaneck men were playing basketball in the park when they were told that a thief had made off with their bags, Detective Lt. Andrew McGurr said. The two confronted the man near the town pool, where he signaled he was armed but did not show a weapon.
He took cell phones and wallets from the bags and fled, McGurr said. Responding officers stopped a man matching a description given by the victims, but he was let go after they said it wasn’t the robber.
Police soon spotted the .380 Sig Sauer on the ground nearby, McGurr said. The weapon was traced to a burglary in Florida.

It can't possibly be from Florida - you see, NJ has laws that forbid illegal guns.
