Despite warnings of blizzard conditions and power outages, Teaneck was left largely unscathed from the powerful winter storm that dumped heavy snow across the region.

Township officials reported no widespread electric outages or downed trees. Crews mobilized ahead of the storm by salting roadways, and worked overnight to clean up around a foot of snow, officials said.

On the Teaneck Patch Facebook page, residents reported that they were largely pleased with the town's progress in clearing roadways.

Were you satisfied with the town's response to the snow storm?

I am glad we missed the bullet. Of course, I was smart enough NOT to go around inspecting. Storms give advanced notice of their arrival. Our municipal crews, their equipment and that of private, hired crews seemed to be ready and well coordinated. Go, Teaneck!!

The Teaneck DPW did a fine job clearing the roadways and the handy-capped ramps on Teaneck Road. Glad they did that as there was four feet of snow on top of the ramp on my property. Teaneck's new motto, "Git 'er dun!!!"

Living on a dead-end in the extreme northwest corner of Teaneck, it's easy to have low expectations in a storm of this predicted magnitude. Despite the depth of the snow, my Friday night entertainment of a plow carefully clearing the snow down to the pavement at the end of the cul de sac did not let me down. By Saturday morning, my street was almost all blacktop and all of the Teaneck streets I saw were clear. during my travels Saturday night in the Teaneck metropolitan area, it seemed that the crews in our neighboring municipalities didn't do near as well as Teaneck did and in many places you could see the border of Teaneck marked by pavement on the Teaneck side and a few inches of snow on the other.

This is the first time since experiencing large accumulation snow fall in Teaneck that I have been able to say that I am impressed with the level of service provided by the township and the DPW. Thank you!

I drove around some of the neighboring towns and Teaneck had one of the best, if not the best response to the storm. They did a good job and we should expect nothing less.

Hey Council, I think the public is sending you a message: Out of gratitude for services well performed, give our DPW a truck garage!

I must join in the commendations.

Also, I have neglected to give a thumbs up to United Water. I do not recall the last time my residence was without flowing water.
