What: Cedar Lane Family Fun Festival 

Details: The Cedar Lane Family Fun Festival will feature a host of events, including a pie eating contest and display boths from more than 40 merchats. Below is a list of events happening as part of the festival. 

When: Merchats will start setting up at 11 a.m. for outdoor shopping

Where: Cedar Lane, from American Legion Plaza to Elm Avenue

What: Blue Chips of Bergen County Performance/Cedar Lane Festival Opening Ceremony 

Details: The ceremony will open with a selection of songs and performance by Tenor Joshua Benevento, winner of last year’s Mario Lanza Vocal Competition, who will perform a series of patriotic songs in honor of the nation's veterans.  Remarks will be given by Cedar Lane Management Group President Karen Careccio. 

At noon, Pat Battle, co-anchor for NBC News’ Weekend Today in New York and longtime NBC News New Jersey Correspondent, will be honored for her coverage of news events at the opening ceremony. Teaneck resident Ben E. King, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame singer and recording artist, will be presented with the Cedar Lane Management Group's Lifetime Achievement Award. 

When: 11:45 a.m. to Noon, Monday

What: Blueberry Pie Eating Contest 

Details: Kids ages 9 to 12 can gather for the whipped-cream topped Blueberry Pie Eating Competition, sponsored by Butterflake. Participants can sign up in advance by calling 212-764-6330 or the day of at Butterflake. 

When: 1 p.m.

What: Pickle Eating Competition 

Details: Adults, ages 18 to 40, will have the chance to test their eating abilities in a pickle eating contest on the festival stage. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. Contestants can sign up by calling 212-764-6330 or by visiting Picklelicious on the day of at 384 Cedar Lane. 

When: 1:30 p.m.

Details: The festival stage at Cedar Lane and Elm Avenue will feature live music from 2 to 5 p.m.

What: 10th Annual Mario Lanza Vocal Competition For Tenors and Sopranos

Details: Some of North Jersey's most talented classical musicians will compete. The competitions will be hosted by Joshua Benevento, last year’s winner. The judging panel include, William Ronayne, President of the Mario Lanza Society; Lewis Ehlers, an executive with Lombardo Management, an agency representing classical performers; and Julie Baron, who runs a classical singers website.

When: 2 to 4 p.m. 

Where: Cedar Lane and Elm Avenue, Festival Stage.

What: Jazz Performance

Details: Performances by Blue Haze, a traditional jazz group featuring Leviticus Gory on guitar and Robert Conton on saxophone, and The Chosen Voices, a vocal harmony group, which will perform Stand By Me, in honor of Ben E. King.

When: 4 to 5 p.m.
