More Than 150 Sign Up for Town-Wide Garage Sale

Sales planned for today in Teaneck.

Teaneck’s first-ever town garage sale planned for Sunday has attracted more than 150 registrations, officials said.

There is not one location for the sale. Instead, residents will be able to sell items at their homes with a guide to area sales published on the town website.

An interactive map and full list of participating homes was last updated Wednesday on the town’s website. On Monday, Councilman Elie Y. Katz said more than 150 sign ups had been submitted online.

"In addition to our residents cleaning their homes and selling items they may not need or want anymore, this is another opportunity for residents from neighboring towns to drive around Teaneck and see what a wonderful community Teaneck is," Katz said in an e-mail.

The town-wide event is planned for Aug. 12, with a rain date of Aug. 19. It will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents can register online at www.teanecknj.gov/residents.

Garage sale signs can be posted, but must be immediately removed after the sale, and cannot obstruct drivers.

Anyone with questions can contact Executive Assistant Issa Abbasi at 201-837-1600 ext. 1003 or iabbasi@teanecknj.gov.
