The "Ethical Brew" venue aims to highlight indie and folk artists while fundraising for various causes
The Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County kicked off its new live music venue with a performance Saturday by singer-songwriter Vance Gilbert.
The new venue, dubbed "Ethical Brew," aims to highlight indie and folk artists while raising money for various social action projects and charitable causes, according to a press release posted on northjersey.com.
Funds raised at the event benefited the Sanctuary Committee of Bergen County, a network of groups working to support political asylum seekers.

Outstanding performance! The place was full, and the audience gave Vance Gilbert a well-earned standing ovation. He's not only a superb singer and songwriter, but a witty raconteur. This is the first time I've heard him, but I am a fan now.
