Patient Thanks TVAC After Surviving Potentially Deadly Fall
Accident puts man in a coma, leads to several surgeries.
A little over a year ago, Daniel Mollino was found on the pavement suffering life-threatening injuries from a 20-foot fall. Teaneck police officers on the scene first took steps to protect Mollino‘s neck, back and spine. A crew from the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived and quickly began a series of procedures that undoubtedly saved the 26-year-old’s life, TVAC said in a news release.
TVAC members administered oxygen and found signs of a potentially significant traumatic brain injury, the release said. After stabilizing the neck, back and spine, TVAC rushed the patient to an ambulance, but the emergency care didn’t stop. Mollino had to be intubated by paramedics while TVAC members assisted with ventilation.
Mollino’s condition during the ride was unstable, but after weeks in a coma and several surgeries, he returned to thank the TVAC crew who saved his life.

Hooray for our & other town's Volunteer Ambulance Corps. I had a terrible auto accident on Kinderkamack Rd. and the Emerson Corps did similar stabilizing & oxygen with me. They all are very well trained, fast & efficient & often the difference between life, terrible injury, or death. Thank you!
