Community members took time out of their day Friday to read to students in celebration of "Read Across America Day."

The event, a celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, started at 10 a.m. when students, teachers, and staff throughout the district stopped regular activities to read with students.

"The district expresses heartfelt gratitude to all who participated by reading, cooking, donating books or however you chose to share with us," a news release said.
