Power Outages Up in Teaneck, Report Says
Some outages could continue into the weekend, according to latest utility work schedule.

About 3,000 Public Service Electric and Gas customers were without power in Teaneck Tuesday morning, up from yesterday's total, according to an updated company work schedule.
On Monday morning, PSE&G reported 2,842 customers out, but Tuesday's report showed 3,118 of Teaneck's 15,892 customers without service.
According to the work plan, 322 were expected to come back online Tuesday, followed by 395 Wednesday, 469 Thursday and 1,353 on Friday. The company expected to repair 406 on Saturday and 173 on Sunday.
An original work schedule projected having all of the town restored last weekend. Another schedule showed an increase in local customers without service.
PSE&G has stressed the schedules were only projections and could change at any point.
"Our work plan is prioritized by where we can restore the maximum number of customers in the shortest possible time, the critical nature of some operations e.g. schools and polling places, and is affected by a number of technical considerations including the ability to access roads and equipment," the company said.

Voting polls @ Lowell School delayed opening due to late delivery of voting documents n keys to unlock voting machines, unbelievable...voter suppression attempted in Teaneck, district 7 & 8. It appeared that the township employee of all people did not get the info as to where to go.

This is exactly what my initial concern was and how evident it is that there was a misconception about resolved power issues when in fact folks are still without power!

Noah - great job this week. I am district 4. I went shortly before 9 AM to vote. I was ticket #75. I said that is very, very low turnout. They said there was a problem with machines and equipment not being ready on premises when polls opened, so majority of early arrivals filled out this THICK stack of provisional ballots. By the time I got there, after 8:30 AM, all was resolved, but for those that may have just turned around and left as they had to get to work [I am my own boss], they may not return to NJ or Teaneck on time to vote!!! I wonder how many could not stick around. The workers at the poll were very frustrated. Again, this is district 4. Very sad.

I've spoken to a friend from Ridgefield Park who even without power has been kept abreast of all on-going efforts during this time. Even having town police enforcement running up and down with bull horns. She informed me the town has worked on implementing a plan for times like this, keeping everyone informed from school to polling and has worked as a mediator with PSEG. I think that's called being organized!!!

We got power last night...... Thanks God... but I am feling guilty since my neighbors are still without power........ May God has mercy on them.... My prayers are with them.....
One thing is for sure... Teaneck has higher taxes and NO services....... You pay for your own garbage and yes in times like these... you are on your own..... The township does not care about you... They only care about your taxes..... there were enough updates about what will happen to your tax payments schdules due to this hurricane..... but nothing about fallen trees..... (outgrown unnatural huge trees planted on 2 feet of ground..... some one should sue this town)

Phelps/Bennett Rd got power last night. Spoke to someone earlier in the day at PSEG. They encouraged me to tell my neighbors to call in as well. The customer service agent told me it helps those in the field find those pockets that are still out when we call...not sure why PSEG wouldn't know but that is what I was told to do.

Stuyvesant Rd. had power for about 40 minutes this morning, then it went out again around 9:15 am. This is getting ridiculous.

Despite some crowds at 6 a.m. and seven or eight districts all voting in the same place, the early voting at Hawthorne school went smoothly. I thought the poll workers, faced with the job of setting up machines, voting books, signs, etc., at 6 a.m., did a great job.
