I know for a fact that Global Warming is caused by the Internet! Just graph Internet usage to temperatures over the last decade and you’ll see the correlation. Clearly as Internet usage goes up, so do temperatures! I think it is because of all the heat all the computers put into the air!

Global warming, global cooling, climate change, etc.. Call it what you want but the bottom line is that this is one of the many cycles the earth is going through in its lifetime. It's just that this time there are some folks to record it and those who want to blow it out of proportion for financial gain. If we had the same folks with the same mentality back eons ago they would blaming flatulent dinosaurs for the hole in the ozone layer and blaming the cavemen for finding fire. Who do you blame for the increase in the sun's solar flares helping to increase the temperature or how the distance from the Sun to the Earth is slowly decreasing?

I have always said "Follow the money trail" to know the real story. Is it just a coincidence that Al Gore is a major player/owner of the company that deals with companies that buy "carbon credits"? And who do they buy those "carbon credits from? Big Al's company. So he gets richer while the world continues to get dirtier. Oh yeah, by the way, Obama was part of, and still has an open seat on the Board of Directors for The Chicago Carbon Exchange.

to finish my comment - In the meantime the US is fighting to lead the way (at our expense) and carry the sole weight to clean up the situation, but have you looked at what's taking place around the world? Coal powered plants are still popping up all over the world, smog belching vehicles still are being driven and and major polluting businesses in neighboring countries freely operate regardless of what the US power brokers would like you to believe. It's like we all went to the community plunge for a swim except that we're the only ones NOT peeing in the pool, and WE (US taxpayers) have to pay more for this "privilege".

The 'cycles' you refer to in the past have taken place over millennia, not 30 years, as the current one has.

I'm not sure what you believe that lifespan data proves, but think for a moment:

No matter what sort of country or medical system you are raised under (for simplicity, presume there are no medical breakthroughs whatsoever during your lifetime), your life expectancy must still increase from the time of your birth. The reason is that all those who share your birth date who have already died--in infancy, in childhood, or at any age less than yours--are no longer counted in the statistical life expectancy for those who are still left alive. If you keep dropping lower numbers from the average, the average goes up.

So, your life expectancy at ANY age will always be at least slightly longer than your current age, no matter how old you get, because you have already proved that you are capable of reaching your current age. The only question is how much longer you will actually live. (The question of how long ago you actually died would clearly be absurd.)

I love debating a liberal. Anytime a worthwhile counter point is brought up, such as increased life span, a liberal always respond with bullying words (idiot) then changes subjects. So now that you changed subjects Geronimo, could you tell me how segregation and keeping women in the kitchen have anything to do with Global Warming?

Also, I may be an old dinosaur, but remember this. We old dinosaurs have given you everything you have. BTW, you can thank your elders (you know those old dinosaurs) for getting women out of the kitchen. We dinosaurs gave you the washing machines and dyers, then wash and wear clothing. Microwaves, quick dinners, vacuum cleaners, garbage disposals, high efficacy air cleaners (no more dusting,) self-cleaning ovens, daily shower spray, tablets that keep your toilet clean, and oh so much more. So Geronimo, if you are a woman freed from the kitchen, good for you, but least you forget how and who made that possible for you.

BTW, At the EOD, all the women coming into the work force in mass, was drive the cost of everything up more than double. I don't want to believe it eather, because it's so much easier to sit back and do nothing, but when 98% of the true experts (who have NO commercial bias) agree on something most of us could not even begin to understand, it's very compelling. What Al Gore (or any politician) says, does, believes, what he drives or where he lives has NOTHING to do with the science. Policy in this country can not be set, until we all learn to be honest and up-front with each other. The lies and slanting of the truths MUST be stopped, and the idea of using the government to get what you want is as un-American as one can get!

House Republicans cut the administration’s request for embassy security funding by $128 million in fiscal 2011 and $331 million in fiscal 2012....Last year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that Republicans’ proposed cuts to her department would be “detrimental to America’s national security” — a charge Republicans rejected.

Ryan, Issa and other House Republicans voted for an amendment in 2009 to cut $1.2 billion from State operations, including funds for 300 more diplomatic security positions. Under Ryan’s budget, non-defense discretionary spending, which includes State Department funding, would be slashed nearly 20 percent in 2014, which would translate to more than $400 million in additional cuts to embassy security.
