Once again, great work by our TPD, TFD and TVAC.
I got on Rt. 4 at the Belle Ave Westbound Exit/Entrance. I will note that the exit is still of the 1920's design when Rt.4 was built. There is no acceleration lane to help merge traffic. Maybe the lack of such a lane contributed to the accident. One moment's hesitation and . . . .

The county has proposed for many years to renovate the teaneck section of route 4 to have 3 lanes in each direction and proper acceleration lanes at the entrances. This would involve encroaching on the so-called greenbelt along route 4 in Teaneck - and as far as I can see would also require some eminent domain takings of a few properties that border route 4.

From a point of view of safety and improving the overall traffic flow of route 4 it definitely needs to be done. The usual suspects will of course delay and oppose this.

@Art - The readers of this blog hope that you will complain to the State about Route 4 with the same passion that you complain to the Township about bus shelters.

Art- how do we "fix" this issue on Route 4? Aren't you the same Art Vatsky who wants more green space in Teaneck? You can't widen route 4 without getting rid of the greenway or cutting down trees which for a number of Teaneck residents is a cardinal sin
