Teaneck Electricity Shut Off Rescheduled

Township releases list of areas impacted by the planned temporary outages.

An hour-long power outage planned in Teaneck has been rescheduled for Sunday morning, according to a township statement issued Wednesday.

PSE&G had announced crews would shut down service Saturday morning, however, the outage was rescheduled for the next day at 8 a.m.

The outage is required while PSE&G completes "major improvements" to local electric supply lines, the township said.

A PSE&G spokeswoman did not immediately have details on the work or number of customers expected to be impacted by the outage. The company has been working on several infrastructure upgrades in Teaneck

"Should the weather be inclement on Sunday, December 16th, the interruption of service will be on Saturday, December 22nd from 8 to 9 a.m. regardless of weather conditions. PSE&G said that residents in the affected areas received hand-delivered notices notifying them of the service interruption," the town said.

According to the town, the following areas will be impacted Sunday morning:

  • Teaneck Road South of Route 4 just past Holland Terrace
  • West Lawn Drive
  • Werner Place
  • Cranford Place
  • Grayson Place
  • Edgemont Place
  • Prince Street
  • Monterey Avenue
  • Holland Terrace

Art, you may want to sign up for Teaneck's new alert system on their website. While getting news through traditional media, like Patch is a good way to stay informed - the official alert from the Township (as well as through secondary sources like Elie Katz' tidbits, an email from Yitz Stern, a Facebook post from Mark Schwartz and the Mayor) all came through before Patch posted this article.

I have town alerts but I prefer patch but I get more news/breaking news in one place. The town alerts are mostly junk mail about stuff i dont care about. I think The Patch is just as updated if not more. Plus I get breaking news not just Town "approved" messages. During the storm the town alerts were few and far between yet the Patch had constant updates. To each his own I guess.

Art: I hope you are at the next council meeting! You need to share our comments here RE louie's and cedar lane. What can we elect you to??

But unlike Paul Revere we can't do anything about the changes.
