Teaneck High School Graduation Moved to FDU in Hackensack

Ceremony will be held at University's Rothman Center.

The Teaneck High School graduation scheduled for Thursday has been moved to the Rothman Center at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack, according to the school district.

Graduation was first set to be held outside at Teaneck High School, but the district had the Rothman Center as a backup. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.

North Jersey has been hit was extreme heat and state officials have warned of air quality and health issues through Thursday.

Directions to the center at 140 University Plaza Drive are below from the district:

Take Cedar Lane to River Street. Make a right onto River Street and follow to the second light at Temple Avenue (Target will be on your left). Take Temple Avenue to the end. The Rothman Center will be directly in front of you; parking lot will be to the right.

Take Route 4 West to the Hackensack Avenue, Hackensack exit. Go straight on Hackensack Avenue to Temple Avenue (at second light--Target will be on the right far corner). Make a left onto Temple Avenue. Take Temple Avenue to the end. The Rothman Center will be directly in front of you; parking lot will be to the right.

Has Teaneck become a township of WIMPS?? Graduation out in the heat with the sun in the eyes of the parents and family used to be a Rite of Passage!!! Now Teaneck High is even air-conditioned. We used to bake in our classes -- and I don't mean Home Ec! And we used to freeze our butts (and other body parts) off Thanksgiving morning at the Teaneck-Hackensack football game. It's now a town of namby-pambies. (I'm only kidding, folks. But I did walk to school, uphill both ways!)

This is called ''progress''. It's 95° right now and expected to be higher tomorrow. Kids will be sweltering in their gowns and parents subject to the heat as well. We didn't have alternative solutions years ago. I suppose you miss mumps and polio as well.

Greetings from Paurt of Prince, Haiti, hope all is good with you. I'm far away but keep abreast of my town via Patch. It was also nice to see a photo that I shot last year and still get credit for it, I appreciate that. Thank you Noah, be well and keep on reporting the news.

Regards,

Sergio

Good. That means those of us who live by the high school won't be subjected to a ton of traffic on our street that night.

Well Shimon Baum, you decided of your own free will to live near a school. Traffic and schools go hand in hand.

Apparently me making comments and stupid responses go hand in hand too. I could say the weather was hot some genius would say well you decided to live somewhere hot.

I heard on the news today that several people in North Bergen fainted yesterday during the graduation ceremony. Apparently their bodies didn't have the fortitude of Mr. Baum.
