A 40-year-old Teaneck man was arrested Friday after investigators learned he sexually abused a young girl, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Richard Rhode, of Voorhees Street, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering  the welfare of a child, authorities said. He was ordered held at the Bergen County Jail on $75,000 bail, with no ten percent option, after an arrest by Teaneck police and county Special Victims Unit detectives.

The girl first reported the abuse to her mother, who contacted authorities, according to a prosecutor’s office statement. Authorities described Rhode as an acquaintance of the juvenile victim.
