Teaneck Road Popeyes Closed
Fast food eatery expected to re-open, according to company spokeswoman.
A Popeyes fast food chicken restaurant on Teaneck Road was one of five New York City-area locations to shut down, a company spokeswoman confirmed Monday.
Alicia Thompson, vice president for communications at Popeyes, said the stores were expected to "re-open in the near future," but there was no estimate on when. The five metro-area locations were all owned by the same franchise, she said.
"The restaurants are independently owned and operated and it is our policy to not comment specifically on the business concerns of our individual franchise operators," Thompson wrote in an e-mail.
The property owner could not be immediately reached for comment.

Hope it reopens soon. I am tired of seeing businesses, especially restaurants closing down in Teaneck. It means business, tax revenue and jobs go elsewhere, weakening our Teaneck economy further. Besides, Popeye's tastes good!

Where are the other 4? We just got one in Little Ferry, replacing the sadly missed Pollo Tropical.

obviously there was a problem with this franchise not specific to Teaneck.. the artcle says they are all owned by the same franchise so i wouldnt blame teaneck. This location always seemed busy but i try to avoid fast food

This is really becoming a sad issue in Teaneck, we are losing a lot of Businesses. I hope we can come up with some information on how we as a town can rectify this issue, we need Businesses for all to strengthen our Town economy which is looking very Bleak at this time and I as a resident along with many others are extremely worry. We can't let our town - Teaneck fail !!

They should have closed, they were shady and never accepted valid coupons, they always came up with an excuse. Reported them numerously, also would serve old chicken and would lie about it just being cooked. Love Popeyes Chicken, but hate shady business people, especially when food is not cheap.

Lee: I have to disagree with you on this...... The people were nice and their chicken was always fresh. I never had any issues with them and I used to go there often.
I realy miss them... hope they come back soon.....

PEOPLE PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WITH THE CLOSING OF TEANECK NJ'S POPEYES, EVERYBODY THERE LOSES THEIR JOBS AND THATS NOT GOOD EITHER. BRING BACK OUR POPEYES. I KNOW THERE IS ONE IN ROCKAWAY NJ, AT THE ROCKAWAY TOWNSQUARE MALL AT LEAST THERE WAS LAST YEAR IN THEIR FOOD COURT. I'M GOING TO MISS THEM TRADEMARK REDBEANS AND RICE TOO.
