Teaneck Top Scorer Commits to LIU-Brooklyn

THS athlete has host of accolades

Joel Hernandez, of Teaneck High School's Highwaymen, has committed to playing at Long Island University-Brooklyn, according to NJ.com. 

Hernandez opted for LIU over Hofstra, Quinnipiac, Robert Morris and St. Joseph's, the report said. 

He has racked up a host of athletic accolades during his Teaneck basketball career, including being named North Jersey Player of the Year and the Second Team All-State by the Star-Ledger, the website reported.

"He averaged 24.1 points and nearly 12 rebounds per game as he helped lead Teaneck to a third-straight Bergen County Jamboree title and third-straight NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 title," the report noted. 

He scored 50 points in a game against Demarest and finished his Teaneck career with 1,590 points.
