Butterfly Museum to Open Saturday in Teaneck
Restaurant, event space planned at Windsor Road center.
The long-awaited insect-themed museum and entertainment center on Windsor Road will open to the public Saturday.
The center, called World of Wings, is set to include insect exhibits and a live butterfly atrium, project representatives have said at zoning board hearings. The public will get its first chance to visit the new town attraction at 11 a.m. Saturday, according to an announcement made Tuesday.
In addition to live exhibits of insects and birds, the facility will include a restaurant, space for holding parties, a lizard area and virtual reality games.
The new museum will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to the announcement. The atrium will close at 6 p.m.
World of Wings took over the former Givaudan property, a Swiss fragrance company. The 5.8-acre site was vacant since 2009.
The center is located at 1775 Windsor Road.
