Local law enforcement and first responders joined together with the community for a night of family fun at National Night Out in Votee Park Tuesday.
The celebration featured displays including a military helicopter landing, Teaneck emergency vehicles and the Bergen County Police Department's dive team.
Teaneck firefighters and members of the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps were also on hand to demonstrate the Jaws of Life in a simulated car accident rescue.
The town's National Night Out Celebration was organized by the police department and its community policing squad, led by Sgt. Scott Tesser.
Police Chief Robert Wilson restored Teaneck's community policing unit after it was closed about two years ago. The unit has held community seminars and is available to address neighborhood issues.

Looks like it was a nice event.
No elected officials? I guess it's not election season.

I was allittle disturbed at the prices of the food. The town held this event at dinner time. I am a single disabled mom who traveled to the park via NJ Transit. When I left my apartment, I was certain, $20 would be enough. Everthing that was being served was $8.00. That was CRAZY, but...unfortunately...I had to pay it! My daughter and I got a burger each, THAT IS IT...it was all we were able to afford!! No drinks, that was it. Shame on the vendors!!!!

P.S. Thank 7-11 for donating the water, however!! We were able to wash down the burgers one hour after eating them! We found that towards the end of the event.

Really!?!? Are you kidding?? FREE Face painting, FREE train rides, FREE inflatable slide, FREE inflatable jump house, FREE face painting, FREE giveaways (tattoos, badges, bracelets, glow sticks, whistles, fire helmets. Etc) FREE entertainment and your complaining that you chose to eat out instead of at home and it cost money for that! By the way I had a 3 dollar hamburger and a 2 dollar hotdog...not 8 dollars for either...once again...REALLY!?!?!

The photos are very nice. I think Teaneck should be very proud of this and the efforts that went into it.

It seems as though someone has deleted one of my comments about my financial issue @ Night Out......It stated that I found out later that week that there was Kosher and non-Kosher food.....I didn't see any difference, nor did I see burgers being sold at any other table....apparently there was, which I overlooked, somehow...maybe they weren't ready yet??? Nonetheless....I was told by a few other persons that there were non-Kosher burgers, which I would of had no problem eating, but didn't see.....HOWEVER, charging different prices is a whole different issue. Sounds kind of unfair, but whatever! Can't look back.
