Lockdown lifted after report of gun in the school, police say.
Teaneck High School was briefly locked down Thursday afternoon based on a report of a gun in the building, police said.
The lockdown was lifted after police conducted a search and did not find a weapon, said Detective Capt. Glenn O'Reilly. The incident remained under investigation Thursday afternoon and there were no arrests.
School officials first learned of the threat, but it was not clear how.

They wanted to leave school early? Remember when they used to pull the fire alarm? Kids are nuts!

I appreciate the quick and professional responses of the Teaneck School District and Teaneck Police Dept. In this day and age I would not joke about these cases.

I agree James, when my sons where at THS they had this going on a regular basis. It may be just a way to get out of school early but why take the chance-whether they are "Crying Wolf or not" I'm glad that the high school staff & Teaneck police & fire were there & did what they had to do to make sure that the kids & staff were safe.

My son attends THS and was there today when it happened. Unfortunately a school goes on "lockdown" when an incident like this happens and they have to turn off the lights, lock the doors, hide under desks and remain silent like lambs until notified and they can't leave. Its no social event. Sad but real times.

No leaving early...hence the "Lock Down".
