Last Rangers Devils game I went to (not playoffs), the fighting in stands between the fans was much more entertaining than the fighting on the ice. At one point, the players stopped to watch the fans.

Can't make this stuff up. New Jersey/New York Fans-Whatever sports event you go to,these two groups always seem to make the headlines. Go Figure?

I am and have been a rangers fan for 32 years. I have had season tickets for the past 8 years. If I miss 4 games a year, that's a lot. I have experienced many young punk Devils fans at games running their mouths and acting obnoxiously, for this I will forever run my mouth when I have the opportunity to do so. I would never waste my time or words on any other team. The devils are composed of 4 kinds of fans.
1) Kids -which is cool because they have to start somewhere
2) Obnoxious twenty somethings-understandable that they are devils fans, but the obnoxious spoiled rotten attitude has to go
3)Ship Jumpers-At one time routed for the rangers or islanders, the latched onto the Devils when they attained success

Not a mets or jets fan. I actually hate the jets and the mets. Perhaps maybe you remember Thurman Munson, Willie Randolph, Greg Nettles, Bucky Dent, Ron Guidry, Reggie Jackson, Micky Rivers. I have routed for 1 team in hockey, 1 team in football, and 1 team in baseball my whole life. I route for no team but the rangers and route against the devils no matter who they play unless of course it would have playoff implications. There there don't get all devils fan white trashy.
