Whole Foods Recalls Salmon Citing Listeria

News4NewYork.com: Supermarket says sample of cold-smoked, sliced Alaskan Sockeye tested positive for bacteria.

Whole Foods Market, with stores throughout northern New Jersey - including supermarkets in West Orange, Montclair, Ridgewood, Paramus, Edgewater and Madison, has announced it is issuing a voluntary recall of some 4-ounce Whole Catch Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, cold-smoked and sliced, after a sample tested positive for listeria, according to a Monday report on nbcnewyork.com.

The lot code for the recalled smoked salmon is 7425A2298B. The UPC code is 0 99482 40880 0.

Whole Foods says the recalled items were sold in supermarkets in 12 states, including New Jersey.

No illnesses have been reported.

It's confusing to show a picture of fresh salmon with this story. Recall is only packaged smoked salmon, yes? I imagine I'm not the only one who cooked salmon from Whole Foods last night and had a little panic attack at the sight of that picture.
