DESCRIPTION:Macculloch Hall Historical Museum collaborates with the New J
 ersey Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee in mounting a major exhibit: 
 &ldquo\;Gone for a Soldier:&rdquo\; Jerseymen in the Civil War\," to run
  from November 6\, 2011 to July 1\, 2012.\nThe exhibit will provide a un
 ique perspective on the Civil War\, focusing on New Jersey soldiers and 
 their stories. Working in partnership\, the two organizations are using 
 their expertise and connections to private and institutional collections
  to bring together an unprecedented amount of memorabilia chronicling th
 e experience of New Jersey and her soldiers in the Civil War. Among the 
 objects displayed will be rare Civil War uniforms\, weapons\, equipment\
 , posters\, photographs\, drums\, and personal items loaned from private
  collectors\, historical societies\, and museums in the Mid-Atlantic reg
 ion and beyond. &ldquo\;Many of these items have never been on public di
 splay and certainly never as a comprehensive exhibit of this scale. We e
 xpect this will be the largest grouping of New Jersey Civil War material
  ever brought together\,&rdquo\; said Paul Loane\, a member of the Sesqu
 icentennial Committee.\nMacculloch Hall Historical Museum provides an ex
 cellent backdrop to this exclusive showcase of New Jersey Civil War mate
 rial. The Macculloch-Miller family had strong military\, philanthropic a
 nd public service ties to New Jersey. Lindley Hoffman Miller\, grandson 
 of George and Louisa Macculloch and son of U.S. Senator Jacob Miller\, w
 as commissioned in 1863 as a captain in the First Regiment of Arkansas V
 olunteers of African Descent.&nbsp\; His wartime experience is told thro
 ugh his letters home\, now held in the museum&rsquo\;s archives.\nThe ex
 hibit will open to the general public on Sunday\, November 6\, 2011.&nbs
 p\; An exclusive evening preview of the exhibit and an opportunity to me
 et the experts behind it takes place November 5. Tickets for the preview
  will be available\, at www.maccullochhall.org\, after September 19th. &
 nbsp\;The museum will offer lectures\, book signings\, and public progra
 ms to complement and enhance this major exhibit throughout the year.&nbs

 Macculloch-Miller families\, the Morris area community\, and the legacy 
 of its founder W. Parsons Todd through its historic site\, collections\,
  exhibits\, and educational and cultural programs. It is located in the 
 heart of Morristown&rsquo\;s National Historic District. Macculloch Hall
 's Offices are open Monday - Friday &ndash\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; 9 a.m. to 4 p
 .m.&nbsp\; The Museum is open for house and exhibit tours Wednesdays\, T
 hursdays &amp\; Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. The last tickets for admission 
 are sold at 3 p.m.&nbsp\; Admission is $6 Adults\; $5 Seniors &amp\; Stu
 dents\; 12 years and under and museum members are free.&nbsp\; School to
