Teaneck Youth Advisory Board Begins 7th Year

Local teens can share their concerns and ideas with township officials

The following announcement was submitted by the Teaneck Youth Advisory Board:

On October 10, 2013 the Teaneck Youth Advisory Board reconvened for an astonishing 7th consecutive year. These outstanding students will continue previous efforts, as their primary goal remains, working towards bridging the gap between the Teaneck Township officials and the youth of the community.

This year's group consists of a host of newly appointed members and many dedicated teenagers who have been participating for several years.  The students, who range from middle school through high school seniors, are bringing many new ideas as they voice their concerns for the youth of Teaneck.  In attendance were the YAB adult advisors, Scott Pleasants and Recreation Department liaison Andrew Richardson, also Councilwoman Lizette Parker, the Township's liaison, and Sebastian Rodriguez, Teaneck Board of Education Trustee and YAB liaison. These community minded adults will continue to assist the youth members in identifying specific goals.  As Mykael Commorto and Ava Castaño stated, “ improved technology in the middle schools” is an area that they would like to discuss.
