A 25-Year Anniversary of Life Gala Celebration to Benefit MADD and BIANJ

Twenty-five years ago Steven Benvenisti’s parents were asked to donate his organs as he laid in a coma for 10 days after being struck by a drunk driver. Miraculously, Steven fully recovered and currently dedicates his life to helping the injured as an attorney and partner at the law firm of Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C.

On March 25, 2014, Steven’s family, friends and colleagues will gather at Season’s in Washington Township, NJ to celebrate the 25-year milestone and more importantly to honor and benefit two charities he holds close to his heart, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey.

Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C. will host over 200 guests on Tuesday, March 25th for the 25-Year Anniversary celebration to raise funds and awareness for MADD and BIANJ. Donations made by guests will go directly to their charity of choice and representatives from each charity will be on-site to educate attendees on their cause and raise additional money through various raffles and fundraisers.

Steven will present two awards in honor of individuals actively involved in MADD and BIANJ. “Although the 25th Anniversary of my accident is a great cause for celebration, I am delighted to honor and benefit two organizations that continue to help victims of drunk drivers and persons suffering with traumatic brain injuries. Mothers Against Drunk Driving and The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey are two charities whose work and prevention efforts make a profound difference in reducing the number of drunk drivers on our roads and by helping those who deal with traumatic brain injuries in our state.”

Mothers Against Drunk Driving is a non-profit organization established by a mother who lost her daughter to a drunk driver’s recklessness. The organization’s mission, “to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking,” highlights the importance and significance of every donation. Another non-profit organization, The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey was founded by parents of children who suffered from brain injuries. BIANJ creates support groups, advocates for brain injury victims and raises awareness through education and prevention campaigns.

About Steven Benvenisti, Esq.

During their last spring break in Daytona Beach, Florida, Steven and his college friends were walking when a drunk driver crushed Steven’s legs and caused severe brain trauma. Doctors were initially pessimistic regarding Steven’s survival. The impact of the accident left him in a deep 10-day coma and it was uncertain if Steven would regain consciousness or walk again. Steven’s miraculous road to recovery consisted of 15 surgeries, a deadly MRSA infection and months in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.

With the help of his family, friends and countless medical personnel, Steven was determined to defy the new physical and mental challenges he faced. Steven not only relearned physical tasks such as walking and running, but also overcame mental challenges associated with traumatic brain injuries by finishing college and graduating from law school. Today he is a partner at the law firm of Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C. where he dedicates his practice to representing the injured including DWI victims and individuals suffering from traumatic brain injuries.
