BBS Presents the Thornton Wilder Classic, Our Town

The BBS Drama Camp announces its Summer 2013 production, the classic Pulitzer Prize-winning Thornton Wilder play, Our Town.  The play will be performed on July 18th at 8 PM and on Sunday, July 21st at 3 PM and 8 PM in The Shulman Auditorium at Congregation Beth Sholom, 354 Maitland Avenue, Teaneck.  Tickets, $10 each, are now on sale at www.blackboxnynj.com and seating for each performance is limited to accommodate a unique, intimate staging of the classic play.

Those who hear “Our Town” and think “simple,” “quaint,” or “high school” are in for a surprise. BBS’s new production of Our Town is designed to make the play come alive in an intimate setting, and to breathe new life into a script that has been produced thousands of times all over the world.  Rather than the more sugary sweet version that is usually performed, this production retains Wilder’s biting commentary on human foibles, as well as his powerful insights into the human condition juxtaposed with his great compassion and gentle humor.
