For over 25 years, Save the Animals Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. ii) has worked to save the lives of thousands of dogs and cats throughout Northern New Jersey.  The shelter is now asking the community to help fund its Spay/Neuter program by attending its Kitten & Puppy Shower on Sunday October 6th 2013.

The event will be held from 11am – 2pm at Vitale’s restaurant, 293 Queen Anne Rd., Teaneck, NJ.  Attendees will be treated to a delicious buffet brunch, and activities will include a money hat, 50/50 and a Tricky Tray offering a great assortment of gift baskets and other items.  All proceeds will benefit S.T.A.R.T. II’s “Spay/Neuter” program.  Guests are also asked to bring a pet-related gift for the wishing well.  Donated items will be used for the cats and dogs in our care.

“Summer is prime kitten and puppy season, and this year has been particularly challenging,” explains President Marge Kayne. “We are trying to save as many animals as we can from entering local kill shelters, which puts a tremendous strain on our finances. S.T.A.R.T. II has taken in over 300 puppies and kittens over the past few months already.  If everyone can donate even just 50 cents, we can make a huge difference in overpopulation of homeless animals.”

Tickets to the shower are $35 and can be ordered by email to fejodan@aol.com or via phone to 201-368-2743 (ask for Joan).  If you cannot attend the event, please consider making a tax-deductible donation via our website at startii.org or via check mailed to PO Box 177, Elmwood Park, NJ 07407.
