THE MUSICAL, December 13 - 15. Based on the Oscar® winning DreamWorks film, this hilarious show is directed and
choreographed by Colleen Hawks-Peirce with musical direction by Marci Elyn Schein.

Starring talented kids (ages 8-18) from all over New Jersey and full of fantastic songs, great dancing and lots of laughs, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone!
SHREK THE MUSICAL brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage.  In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre — not a handsome prince — shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a
SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand...and his name is Shrek.

Director/Choreographer Colleen Hawks-Pierce, an accomplished performer in her own right, played the part of The Fairy Godmother on Broadway and can be seen on the newly release DVD of the Broadway production. Colleen has been working with The Garage Theatre Group’s Youth Conservatory for three years.

Working with Colleen on this production is an amazing group of talented young men and women.  SHREK THE MUSICAL is Marci Elyn Schein’s first production as Musical Director for The Garage Theatre Group. She is the Artistic Director of Little Fig Stage in Chappaqua N.Y. where she has directed over 50 muicals with children of all ages.

With a wonderful cast, songs that make you want to dance in the aisles, and moments that will make you laugh until your stomach hurts, SHREK THE MUSICAL promises to be The Garage Theatre Group’s Youth Conservatorys’ most entertaining show yet!
