Contest Could Mean $50K for Teaneck School

Benjamin Franklin Middle School needs votes for a chance to win a $50,000 grant

An online contest could bring up to $50,000 in grand funding to Teaneck’s Benjamin Franklin Middle School.

The school is seeking votes now through Dec. 19 to win funding through the Clorox Company’s Power A Bright Future grant program.  Anyone 13 and up and cast votes online once a day at the Clorox website or by text message.

“The program that receives the highest number of votes will be awarded the $50,000 grand-prize grant, and the next top vote-getters in the Play, Create and Explore categories respectively will each be awarded a $25,000 grant. Clorox’s judging panel, will select three additional lucky schools, one in each category, to win a $25,000 judge’s choice grant,” according to a company press release.

Only seven schools will win nationwide, the release said. For contest rules and to cast a vote visit, www.PowerABrightFuture.com.

According to the school’s contest website, the money would be used to purchase four Smartboards for each grade.

“As teachers we want to see our students as excited about the content as we are, to inspire and launch them into learning, understanding, and critical thinking by creating a learning environment that engages all of the senses, caters to all learning styles, and experience the lesson,” the school’s page describes.
