Missing Parakeet Lost in Wyckoff

Can you help locate the bird's owner? Email Cynthia at bogart46@optonline.net

A Wyckoff woman found a missing conure parakeet last month, but has had no success in hunting down its owner.

"I believe it is a green cheeked, pineapple conure," said Wyckoff resident Cynthia, who found the bird with a band on its leg at her home.

"It flew into the yard in Wyckoff, near the Brick House, on June 16," Cynthia said. "We combed the neighborhood, but no one lost it. It is definitely a people bird."

If you can help Cynthia locate the bird's owner, email Cynthia at bogart46@optonline.net.

Cynthia, if indeed a person shows up claiming to be the bird's owner, don't surrender it to them unless you can talk to their vet who can verify that the bird is truly the claimer's. There are many people out there who would want to claim it as their own and then sell it to just anyone. Please take this cautionary warning from a former President of an animal rescue organization. Good luck to you and the dear sweet bird.

Update .. The lost bird was the one pictured in the Craigslist ad .. Both the "finder" and the "owner" confirmed it .. Yes! I love happy endings.
