The new photo ID badge management system will require ALL individuals who are purchasing or renewingVotee Park pool IDs to have a digital photo taken at the Administrative Office of the Recreation Department. The new IDs will have bar codes for validation. The badge check booth at Votee Park will be equipped with bar code readers to assist the Department in tracking attendance as well as to insure that only residents with current photo id badges are using our pool facilities.

The fee for a Votee pool photo ID badge will remain the same; that is, $25 for adults (18 years and up) and $15 for students (5 to 17). Residents in possession of photo ID badges from the previous season receive a $5 discount when they bring their old badge in along with current proof of residence for renewal. A replacement for a lost, stolen or damaged badge requires payment of the renewal fee. Please note: the new photo ID badges are not waterproof and should not be worn in the pool.

In addition to processing the new photo IDs for Votee Park pool, the Department will also be issuing Hawthorne pool swim tags and tennis badges for the 2011 season. The fee for a Hawthorne pool swim tag is $10. A replacement for a lost, stolen or damaged tag requires full payment of the original fee.

To use the municipal pools, residents must bring proof of residence for each family member ages 5 years and up when applying for photo id badges and tags. The same procedure is applicable for renewals. A driver’s license with a Teaneck address, a current utility bill, tax bill or lease or mortgage are acceptable proof of residence for adults. For students 5 to 17 years a copy of the child’s birth certificate or current school report along with the parent or guardian’s proof of residence is required. When applying for new photo ID badges, all individuals for whom badges are being requested must be present before badges can be issued.

Hawthorne pool will be open seven days a week from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. through the summer months. In addition, Hawthorne will reopen from 7:00 p.m. to dusk on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
