Route 4 Eastbound to Close For Bridge Project

Motorists encouraged to leave extra time, plan other routes during weekend highway closures.

The eastbound lanes of Route 4 will be closed overnight this weekend while work to replace a section of the highway’s deteriorated bridge deck over Flat Rock Brook in Englewood continues, the state Department of Transportation said.

Route 4 eastbound, east of Grand Avenue, will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday through 10 a.m. Saturday, and at 9 p.m. Saturday through 9 a.m. Sunday. Contractor Creamer-Sanzari Inc. will be installing a new prefabricated structure bridge deck, officials said.

"Motorists are encouraged to leave extra time for travel or plan alternate routes," the DOT said.
