Teaneck Police Department Hosts Evening Crime-Prevention

The event is open to everyone in the community and also includes activities for children such as train rides, face painting and obstacle courses.

In an effort to prevent crime, the Teaneck Police Department is hosting a block party for the entire town at Votee Park.

Teaneck Police announced Thursday that it is inviting the community to join the police force and their neighbors for a night to discuss crime prevention and safety at National Night Out.

The block party will take place Aug. 5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and feature presentations and displays from the Teaneck Police department as well as other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, fire trucks, members of all branches of the military and other community groups.

The event is family friendly, with activities for children including face painting, train ride, obstacle courses, prizes, music and food. The event also boasts demonstrations from the police and military members.
