‘Teaneckopoly’ Game to Debut Sunday

Celebration planned at the Teaneck General Store Sunday.

A Teaneck-themed board game has returned with a kick-off celebration planned for this Sunday at the Teaneck General Store.

“Teaneckopoly” offers a Teaneck-centric take on the classic board game with local landmarks and businesses featured. Local icons including Ludewig's Hardware, Bischoff’s and Butterflake are featured on the game.

“This initiative has been a true community builder. Each organization and business has shown pride and enthusiasm in being part of this unique game which represents our unique community. Games will available for sale throughout Teaneck and online,” Teaneck General Store owner Bruce Prince said in an e-mail.

The first game will kick off at Prince’s Cedar Lane shop from 3 to 6 p.m. Local community and business leaders will be on hand for the event.

Teaneck General Store is located at 502 Cedar Lane.

Bruce: Tell me, is this the Teaneck-opoly game with bus shelters, clean sidewalks, and healthy trees along the Streetscape? Does it include a re-opened Cedar Lane Cinema? Hope so because that was in the Streetscape when it was started. That's the version I want for Cedar Lane, and similar for Teaneck Road and Queen Anne Road commercial areas. Teaneck should shine, not decline.

Is Votee Park included in the game? If so, is the park opened or closed due to contaminated soil?

does the game include the lady who baked her way out of foreclosure?

It's Ludewig's, by the way, not Ludwig's.

You can run into Bischoff's on any day of the week and get a game. They will even wrap it for you!
