More Than 4,000 Lose Power in Teaneck, New Milford Area

About 4,600 Public Service Electric and Gas customers lost power for at least five hours Friday around the Teaneck and New Milford-area, the utility company said. 

PSEG expected to have service restored at some point Friday night, spokeswoman Karen Johnson said shortly before 6 p.m. An exact time was not immediately available, but residents reported service being restored by around 11 p.m.

In Teaneck, outages were limited around New Bridge Road and Cottage Place. More than 2,000 New Milford customers were without electricity, according the PSE&G outage map. In Teaneck, the online map showed up to 500 people impacted.

Bergenfield and Dumont were also hit by outages, the company reported.

Johnson said the outages were caused by cable failures and crews were making repairs.
