BergenPAC Begins Work on Arts School

School will be moved to new space in May, report says.

BergenPAC has begun work to transform a former recording studio into a performing arts school, northjersey.com reported.

Much of the $150,000 in renovations will go toward moving walls and installing new carpet for the school, a spokeswoman said in the report. BergenPAC took over the space Jan. 1.

A school currently operated out of BergenPAC's theater will be moved to the new location when work is completed in May, the report said.

The Englewood City Council approved the $1-per-year lease last year for 20 years at the former studio.

The studio was run by Tony Bennett’s son, Dae Bennett, and turned out more than 20 Grammy and Emmy Award-winning recordings with high-profile artists including Tony Bennett himself, according to Bennett’s website.
