Bischoff’s Earns Praise in NJ Ice Cream Roundup

Bischoff’s, a longtime Teaneck favorite, earned a “very honorable” mention in the Newark Star-Ledger’s recent roundup of homemade ice cream parlors around New Jersey.

The newspaper’s “Taste of New Jersey” column picked out spots from Trenton to Irvington to Teaneck in a search for “great” ice cream.

“Bischoff’s in Teaneck opened in 1934 and walking through the doors is like stepping out of a time machine into another era,” the Star-Ledger notes, pointing to the Cedar Lane ice cream parlor’s more than 40 flavors made on-site.

“There are plenty of everyday basics, and devotees rave about the coffee cookie crunch, pumpkin fudge, butter crunch and mocha royal,” the column says.

Shops in Trenton and Irvington also made the Star-Ledger’s list.
