Cedar Lane Arts Cafe Closes

Phoebe's Place featured live music and fresh food at Cedar Lane location

A Cedar Lane arts cafe named for chart-topping musician and Teaneck-native Phoebe Snow has closed after about six months in town.

Phoebe’s Place opened in early February at the former site of BLAST Gallery and Cafe, offering live music from local artists and serving up healthy, fresh food.

“Phoebe's Place was a brief moment in time, an era in history that may go unnoticed to all but few. But to us few who remember the wine doused, passion soaked, dim lit moments of human connection; where young and seasoned, peach through woodland brown, foreign and domestic, Phoebe's Place will live forever. I am truly astonished at what John managed to do in a few months. He ignited a community. And though our venue has gone silent, our voices are just warming, and our community is still alive and well,” a message on Phoebe’s Facebook page said.

“With that said. Josh Passaretti and I have been working diligently to keep hope a live. We have been scouring the landscape to find a home for a now dispersed and nomadic tribe of poets, bards, comedians, dramatists, screen writers, musicians, singers, rappers, and listeners,” the post said.

Clarification: Information in the post refers to a possible new venue for an open mic performance
